Role of Homoeopathy - Albinism
« on: March 14, 2012, 01:39:47 PM »
Albinism is a defect of melanin production that results in little or no color (pigment) in the skin, hair, and eyes. Albinism results from a biochemical defect in the making of melanin, while vitiligo results from autoimmune destruction of the pigment producing cells, the melanocytes.
Albinism results from a mutation that prevents the body from making the pigment melanin. Albinism is an inheritable disorder and is present at the time of birth.

Albinism occurs when one of several genetic defects makes the body unable to produce or distribute melanin, a natural substance that gives color to your hair, skin, and iris of the eye.
The defects may be passed down through families.
Type 1 albinism is caused by defects that affect production of the pigment, melanin.
Type 2 albinism is due to a defect in the "P" gene. People with this type have slight coloring at birth.
A person with albinism will have one of the following symptoms:
Absence of color in the hair, skin, or iris of the eye
Lighter than normal skin and hair
Patchy, missing skin color
Many forms of albinism are associated with the following symptoms:
Crossed eyes (strabismus)
Light sensitivity (photophobia)
Rapid eye movements (nystagmus)
Vision problems, or functional blindness
The diagnosis of albinismis based on a physical examination, medical history, and laboratory tests (skin biopsy)
Role of Homoeopathy
Albinism may be hereditary and run in families. Children whose parents have the disorder are more likely to develop albinism.
Homoeopathy recognizes importance of root cause such as genetic and inherited factors as a root of any ailment of the body. Homoeopathy is the only method which will treat these hereditary tendencies.
Albinism is seen as tyrosinase positive or negative. In both these variants, homeopathic medicines are effective. Nosode are given as an Intercurrent remedies as a part of homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy is also useful in cases of oculocutaneous albinism, etc.
Homoeopathic medicines act upon the mental-emotional-immunity-hormonal axis to treat the diseases. They work effectively by stimulating the body’s own defense mechanisms. They do have a major role in preparing the individual to fight stress more effectively.
Homoeopathic treatment studies the patient's physical, mental, emotional and aspects. Thus, a complete analysis of the individual is done in terms of personality, intellectual level, lifestyle, relationships, and genetic history.
Constitutional medicines are medicines selected upon the patient’s genetic and mental make-up, personality and lifestyle. These medicines detoxify mind and body; as well as boost our immune power. Thus our immunity fights out disease and infections.
Thus the medicine selected from symptom similarity of the patient gives wonderful results. In homoeopathy single medicine is selected considering all symptoms and with individual approach. So every patient gets medicine as per his own individual symptoms.
Homoeopathic medicines are completely safe, gentle and effective and are non habit-forming. They act effectively on adults, children and pregnant women.
Homoeopathic medicines should be taken after consultation from a Homoeopathic practitioner only.
