A balanced diet containing minerals (iron, calcium, potassium, selenium, magnesium) , protein play a vital role in keeping the hair healthy apart from the external care such as shampoo.Foods which helps to keep hair healthy are

*Vitamin C and Iron containing foods is important for maintaining hair follicles and scalp.Orange,Lemon,Guava,strawberries,green leafy vegetables are good sources of vitamin C and iron.

*Protein rich foods such as Legumes,Brown rice (eg: dal - which also contains minerals like magnesium and potassium) makes your hair shiny and long

*Calcium rich foods such as dairy products(eg: milk) is also essential for healthy hair grow.

*Whole Grains contains large quantities of fiber and nutrients, antioxidants  which keeps the hair healthy .Also helps to keeps away from diseases like diabetes, cardiac diseases,  cancer, obesity etc.
