Vaginal infection during pregnancy..
« on: December 08, 2011, 03:37:00 AM »
I am 4 months pregnant and 2 weeks back i had heavy discharge and was itching in the night.i went to the doctor and she did a vaginal swab test and it shows positive bacterial infection.she put me on antibiotics and to continue for 14 days.I heard consuming antibiotic medicine during pregnancy is unhealthy for child. Is that true? If so what are the other ways to control this?Is there any side effect having this?

I think Your doctor is correct there is no other way to treat this bacterial infection (test shows positive test) than taking antibiotics. And if you are afraid of having this ask your doctor to give antibiotic capsule to put into the vagina, this will give you fast relief from the bacterial attack.I think that is the better way to treat than swallowing..This won't affect anything to your child. Its going to be serious if you don't control the infection.
