Food is very important for your baby to grow and develop. You should consume about 300 more calories per day than before.Nausea and vomiting during the first few months of pregnancy can make this very difficult. Here are some tips to keep you and your baby healthy.
1)Eat different type of foods to get all the nutrients you need.Include food high in fiber, calcium rich foods, Iron rich foods, cereals, rice, fruits, vegetables, protein sources (chicken, fish, Milk, eggs,or nuts).
2)Make sure you are getting enough vitamins and minerals every day,for that take prenatal vitamin supplement.
3)Pregnant women need at least 70 to 80 mg of vitamin C & vitamin A every day,so take food such as oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, honeydew, papaya, broccoli, cauliflower,sprout,carrots,spinach..
4)Take Folic acid every day.Every pregnant woman needs at least 0.4 mg of folic acid per day to help prevent neural tube defects.
5)Drink plenty of water.
Try to eat a well balanced diet and take prenatal vitamins.
