First, see if you have a problem seeing in the dark. A simple test is to keep a black mobile phone or wallet on a black paper on a desk. At around 7-8pm, enter that room without switching on the lights. If you can make out the phone on the black paper, you should be normal. If not, check with an eye surgeon.

Vitamin A is very important for our eyes. It maintains the retinal functions, helps keep the cornea clear, helps in "night vision", etc. The lack of Vitamin A causes Night Blindness and a disease called xerophthalmia. Vitamin A can be found in liver (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish) ,cod liver oil, carrot, sweet potato, butter, spinach, egg ,papaya, mango & milk.

Vitamin A is commercially available as Beta Carotene. Did you know that Beta Carotene in multivitamin tablets should NOT be given to a cigarette smoker? It causes cancer of the lungs if given to smokers.
