CARB counting is a type of meal planning that may help you control your blood glucose levels.Follow these carbohydrate counting steps to help control your diabetes.
Step1:Set your limits
Carbohydrates are found in wide variety of foods, including grains, fruits and diary. Most adults with diabetes should get no more than 200 grams a meal, however your target depends on your medications and how much you exercise.
Step2:Track your intake
Each time you eat a meal or snack,note how close you are to your limit.For packaged foods, check the label clearly.
There are about 15 grams of carbs in:
* One small piece of fresh fruit
* A half-cup of black beans
* One-fourth of a large baked potato.
