Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is a tumor that is malignant and tends to spread to other parts of the body. It is one of the most deadliest cancers since it does not cause symptoms early.It is often diagnosed until it is advanced.The most common type is adenocarcinoma,arising within the exocrine and rarely it arise from islet cells, called neuroendocrine tumors.
Pancreas is a crucial part of the digestive system secretes insulin hormone and enzymes for the food digestion.

-Abdominal pain that radiates to the back
-Weight Loss
-Loss of appetite
-Diabetes mellitus

Risk factors:
-Family history
-Older age
-Diabetes mellitus
-High intake of meats and low intake of vegetables & fruits

-Surgery is needed to remove the parts of the affected pancreas area depending on the stage.
-Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy is used to extend the patient's life.
