Factors:Certain factors boost your risk of developing the disease. Some of them are,
1.Drinking alcohol
2.Getting your first period before age 10.
3.Having changes in the cancer related genes BRCA1 and BRCA2.
4.Being age 55 or older.
5.Not having children by age 30
6.Having 1 or more close family members with breast cancer
Treatment is more likely to be effective if you find cancer early.
Screening recommendations are, yearly mammograms beginning at age 40, and 50-75 years of age get a mammogram every 1 to 2 years.
If your doctor finds that you have breast cancer, treatment depends on the age and stage of your cancer. Options are
Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, Hormone therapy or 2 or more combined treatment.
